Simon Says: Love This Technique

newchallenge

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

This week we are challenging you to

LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE

This week we want you to share a project that features one of your favorite techniques!

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

One of my fave techniques is stencilling! I think its exciting to remove the stencil and see how it looks underneath, you are never totally sure what it will look like and every background you make will be a little bit different. There are so many ready made stencils available, or you can custom make your own to suit your project!

For the background I used a Tim Holtz Speckles Stencil and Pumice Stone Distress Ink for the base and then used a Tim Holtz Bubble Stencil with some Embossing Paste over the top.

The very cute Bird Crazy chick with his bright yellow plumage and the yellow ribbon are a perfect contrast to the grey background. I think I will give this to my hubby one day when we're in the middle of a thunder storm  haha.

I coloured the Crazy Chick and some Tim Holtz Crinkle Ribbon with Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemon Distress Ink Pads.

Did you know that there is a Crazy Things  Stamp Set and there will also be a Coordinating Die Set, which will be shipping mid November, to go with there birds!! The stamp set is winging it's way to me over the pond at this very minute! :-D  I am stalking the postie :-)

Simon's October Card Kit is HERE!!

The 14th of every month is my favorite day, do you know why? It's the day that the latest Simon Says Stamp Card Kit is revealed!! Woo Hoo!! :-)

I am so happy that my October 'Here's Looking At You' Card Kit arrived in time to have a card ready for the reveal day!

I love the stamp set in this kit and know I will use it A LOT! There are My Story Papers and Journalling Cards  from My Minds Eye + a whole load of coloured cardstock and a very cute Simon's Exclusive 'Brushstroke Hello' craft die. Really, the whole kit is AWESOME!!

I used the chevron stamp, inked with Versamark Dazzle to create a shimmery watermark style background. I used a Misti Tool to get the gaps fairly even. I used one of the journalling cards, which already had the heart shape cut out and made it into a shaker, you know how much I love making these ;-)

One of the sheets of paper has a whole load of butterflies, just waiting to be cut out! After cutting I went around the edges with a grey marker, to get rid of the white edges, and then painted some Art Anthology Clear Sparkle Paint over the top. This not only gave it a lovely shimmer but it strengthened the paper slightly too.

and this is the kit !! Isn't it GORGEOUS!! :-)

If you haven't made a subscription to receive the monthly kits, you might want to think of doing it! They are always fabulous and they sell out so quickly, you wouldn't want to miss out ;-)

This time the lovely Sue Drees has made a Bingo Board for us to follow, or we can choose the Anything Goes option. It's up  YOU! :-)

I need to make a few Graduation cards and this is the first one. This is a Stampendous 'Graduate' Cling Stamp, isn't Maxwell cute, he has just graduated as a Cheese Tester ;-)

Choose any line across, up, down, or diagonal and use those  3 items on your card/project. It's ok to use more, but at least three in one row or diagonal is the challenge.
